Hello!
I know February is a short month, but it feels like I blinked and it’s nearly over! I’ve been spending most of my writing time in revisions lately, which has been both rewarding and challenging. I love this part of the process, even if my printed drafts with all of my handwritten notes look like a hot mess. Now that I’m in the midst of rewrites, the stories are shaping up the way they were meant to be all along. I can’t wait to share more soon!
Aside from last week’s new book announcement, I have more fun news this week…
Join me at the DSM Book Festival?
I’ve been selected to be one of the authors at the DSM Book Festival on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025! I’ve head so many good things about this event and I can’t wait to attend. I’ll be at my table from 2:45 pm to 4:15 pm with copies of Monsters and Machines and Forsaken Beauty and the Etherbeast, along with bookmarks.

The DSM Book Festival is a free event, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, at the Franklin Event Center, located at 4801 Franklin Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa. There will be author programs, workshops, book signings, children’s activities, and more all day long. For more information about the Festival, click here!
Special Screening at the Chicago Steampunk Expo
The Chicago Steampunk Expo just announced a bonus exclusive one night only pre-event (no extra ticket) for the evening of Thursday, May 29th, 2025! They’ll be hosting a screening of the new Steampunk epic film Myth of Man followed by a Q&A session with director Jamin Winans and producer Kiowa Winans!
Here’s the trailer for the movie:
I can’t wait to see it! For more information about the screening, check out the Expo’s blog post here.
The Chicago Steampunk Expo takes place from May 30th to June 1st. I’ll have a table in the Palace of Fine Arts (the vending room with artists and authors) and also presenting a few panels:
What if? Exploring Alternate History in Media
Reading of The Clockwork Coffin
With convention season coming up, I thought I’d share three previous posts I wrote about about attending bookish events and steampunk cons. If you’re new to my newsletter or these kinds of events, start reading here:
Happy reading!
