Hello!
April is flying by! I had both the Chicago Steampunk Expo and the Ankeny Authors Fair back-to-back this month. I finally posted my pictures from the Expo on my Facebook page (Part 1 and Part 2.) After the Authors Fair, I donated a copy of Forsaken Beauty and the Etherbeast to the Ankeny Public Library for patrons to check out.
My heart is so full from being around readers, authors, cosplayers, and makers, but I’m also very glad to have some time to get back into revisions from my WIP before my next event, DemiCon!
I’m a Pro Guest at DemiCon this year from May 3rd-5th. I’m on several panels and I’ll have a table in the Dealers’ Room with my books.

Yesterday was my authorversary as it marked four years since I told people that I was going to start publishing.🎉
It would take me another month to work up the nerve to make a public page for my writing and a couple months for me to hit publish on my first short story, "Something Happened on the Way to the World's Fair."
At the time, I was terrified but excited to make things happen when so much else in my life was going wrong. While I still have a ways to go before I'm where I want to be, I'm glad I made the leap. I’ve met some of my favorite people and had some incredible opportunities since I started publishing. I can't wait to see what's next! 💖⚙️📚
I need some assistance as I’m working through revisions of the first book in my new steampunk romantasy series. It’s clear that I need to change to dual POV, but I’m at the point where I’m playing with story structure before draft two. I’ll go with what makes sense for the story (and the advice of my editor when I’m ready for her to look at it) but I was wondering if you have personal preference for when the POV switches between two lead characters.
Alternate POV by chapter: the POV switches between the two characters at the chapter
Split chapters evenly with both POVs: the first half of the chapter is one POV before switching scenes to the other POV
Vary POV depending on scene: change the POV potentially multiple times in the same chapter, depending on the needs of the plot. Not to be confused with head-hopping! The switch would occur with scene breaks.
You can either answer in the poll or in the comment section below:
Also, if you have any reading reccomendations for dual POV romantasy, I’d love to hear them! I’m currently reading one now, but more would be welcome. I’d prefer books that are either in Kindle Unlimited or that I can find at the library or on the Libby app.
Happy reading!
