Hello! What has been sparking joy for you? For me, it was getting to introduce my youngest to his first ever steampunk event. Last weekend, I took him with me to celebrate BrassGears Adventurers Society’s birthday at Ironside Axe Club. He was so excited to wear his steampunk coat that I thrifted from the clothing exchange at the Chicago Steampunk Expo! He was so impressed with everyone’s outfits and already asked me about the next time he can tag along. 💖
It was so good to see my friends from BrassGears. Many of us will be at TeslaCon next month to perform “A Study in Brown”, a live reading of a radio play. For more about the BrassGears Adventurers Society, check out the group page here.
Dogtown’s first Fall Boozy Book Fest is this weekend!
I’m so excited to be one of the attending authors at Dogtown’s first ever Fall Boozy Fest hosted by Shelf Love DSM, Des Moines’ newest indie and inclusive romance book store! Come see us on Sunday, October 19th, from 11 am to 4 pm!
Start at Lucky Horse (2331 University Ave, Des Moines, IA 50311) to pick up your event passport, then meet all the authors and vendors in the neighborhood. My table will be at Mars Cafe, not far from Shelf Love DSM. I’ll have copies of my books and bookmarks available. When your passport is complete, turn it in at Lucky Horse for a chance to win prizes! This event is free to attend. Come say hi!
You can find the full list of authors and vendors by checking out the banner below. For more details, check out the event post here.
After the book fest, I’ll be heading to October’s virtual steampunk book club with Temporal Textual Talks. We’re reading “Strange Practice” by Vivian Shaw this month. You can join us by checking out the event page here. (You don’t have to finish reading the book in order to attend. We have lots of fun!)
As usual, you can find my events schedule by visiting my website here. You can also take a peek at my panel and reading schedule for both TeslaCon and Fables and Flames in last week’s newsletter.
Happy reading!
