Listen to Forsaken Beauty and the Etherbeast on the Serial Fiction Show
The Serial Fiction Show
I had the privilege of guest starring on the Serial Fiction Show ! Listen to the opening of F orsaken Beauty and the Etherbeast episode one, then we discuss everything from steampunk, Nikola Tesla, fairy tales, anime, comics, and K-dramas, and how it all ties together. Best of all, the Serial Fiction Show is a cool concept in that it’s two shows in one.
In the Reader’s Show, you can listen to the first half of Forsaken Beauty and the Etherbeast, then we discuss the world building and inspiration behind the series. JP and Christine also asked me about Strange Happenings and the possibilities of a crossover. Spoiler alert: I’m thinking about it.
In the Writer’s Show, we discuss craft. I talk about my Franken-plotting method of combining a few different frameworks and how I learned serial writing from comics, manga, anime, and k-dramas (yes, really!)
I had so much fun on the show and I’m grateful for the opportunity. The stinger at the end of the Reader’s Show made me laugh to hear it again. I didn’t realize we were still recording, but what I said about myself is true.

After her own father sells her to the unscrupulous Ringmaster, strongwoman Belle thinks she'll spend the rest of her days performing cheap stunts while the Nuzaran masses gawk at her ether-poisoned body. A chance encounter with a beast by her solitary campfire changes everything. Can they find liberation or will the past consume them both?
Forsaken Beauty and the Etherbeast is a steampunk fairytale retelling, filled with mad science, airships, and magical tech! It’s released as 600-5,000 word episodes on Patreon, Kindle Vella , Radish , Fictionate.Me , and Laterpress .
On Kindle Vella, the first three episodes are free, and at the time of this writing, are giving away 200 free tokens to new readers. On Patreon, I wrote a free prequel episode that can be read here . It’s also available on Fictionate.Me as well.
Kindle Vella readers, you can also read this episode. It’s not behind a paywall. I wanted all of my readers to have a free preview episode but I couldn’t use anything on Kindle Vella without violating their ToS. This is my workaround. All my readers deserve a chance to read a preview.
