🚨 ALL the things: new book, new event, & new panels! 💖⚙️📚
Pre-order The Clockwork Coffin, event news, and my TeslaCon schedule!
Hello!
I hope you’re having a wonderful week! I feel like I blinked and September is nearly gone. It’s been a big month for events and my word count. One of my WIPs is nearly finished, at least until I start the revisions process, but I’m feeling really good about how the story is shaping up! While writing and getting into routine has been keeping me busy, I have lots of news to share: pre-orders for The Clockwork Coffin, a new event, and my TeslaCon schedule, including TWO bonus panels!
In case you missed last week’s newsletter, pre-orders went live for my newest book, The Clockwork Coffin! This story is a dark fairy tale retelling of The Princess in the Coffin and will be part of a shared series. If you love tales with wit, courage, and a bit of spooky charm, this one's for you!
Unlock the magic and mystery of The Clockwork Coffin—where alchemy, curses, and slow-burn romance collide in a darkly enchanting tale. 🌙✨📖
🔹 Gothic fairy tale
🔹 Monsters and magic
🔹 Cinnamon roll hero
🔹 Black cat/golden retriever*
🔹 Slow-burn romance
🔹 Only one piano
(*Also called reverse grumpy/sunshine. She's a bit feral. He's a sweetheart.)
Thank you so much to everyone who has already pre-ordered or added The Clockwork Coffin to their Kindle Unlimited library! Though it’s early days for The Clockwork Coffin, at the time of this writing, my book made the Top 100 in New Releases for both Fairy Tales and Steampunk!
In other news, I’m so excited for the Ames Public Library Author Fair on Saturday, October 12th! I was invited to be one of the attending authors. I’ll have copies of Forsaken Beauty and the Etherbeast + Monsters and Machines with me at my table from 2-5 pm.
This event holds a special place in my heart as I lived in Ames for a few years and loved visiting the library. If you’re local to Central Iowa, come meet authors, buy books (or bring your copies to get signed), and say hello!
For more information about the Author Fair, click the button below or the Events page on my website.
TeslaCon is coming soon! This is one of the longest running steampunk conventions in the US and will be November 7th-10th. I’ll be returning as both a vendor and panelist. When I’m not at my table, you can find me on the following panels:
⚙️ What if? Alternate History and the Media
🔱 Plato and the Story of Atlantis
🌊 Gadgets and Gizmos of the High Seas
📖 Steampunk & Storytelling
📚 Strange Steampunk and Reinvented Fairy Tales
I’m thrilled to announce I’m one of the guest panelists on Carolina Cardona’s Steampunk & Storytelling panel, along with other authors and creators! I’ll have more information soon and can’t wait to share more!
My other new panel is Strange Steampunk and Reinvented Fairy Tales. Here’s the panel description:
Join Kelsey Josephson for “Strange Steampunk and Reinvented Fairy Tales,” a captivating panel exploring the enchanting world of steampunk-infused fairy tales, alternate history, and monster stories. Kelsey will read and discuss her works, including Forsaken Beauty and the Etherbeast, Monsters and Machines: A Strange Happenings Collection, and other stories. Attendees will also get an exclusive sneak peek at her newest dark fairy tale retelling, The Clockwork Coffin. Prepare to be transported to fantastical realms where steampunk tech collides with magic and monsters!
You can get a sneak peek of the full TeslaCon schedule here. When the schedule is finalized, I’ll have the list of rooms and times for all my panels posted.
Are you attending any steampunk events or book fair this fall? Let me know in the comments! I love hearing about all the bookish and nerdy shenanigans.
Happy reading!
